HOME COOKED
Home Cooked is a VR cooking game made by me and 4 other students, to help patients with hand injuries to do their rehabilitation excercises in a fun way. Our client for this project was the Wilhelmina Hospital in Assen, Netherlands. My main role within this project was programming the cooking mechanics, but I also helped out with 3D modeling, user research & testing, and giving my input on design decisions.

Home Cooked was made as a school group project that lasted 8 weeks. This was my first time developing for Oculus Quest, and also the first time I worked with a client for a project. The Wilhelmina Hospital asked us to create a VR game for them that would help their patients with hand injuries to do rehabilitation exercises in a fun way.
We came up with a cooking game where various hand movements are used to make delicious meals, from cutting sausages to baking pancakes. I was responsible for most of the mechanics behind this, having programmed features like pouring and mixing ingredients, smashing eggs, flipping pancakes and more.
Along with this, I also helped out on creating 3D models for the project. We had established a stylized artstyle for our game, with cute visuals that I needed to conform to. I contributed to the user research of this project as well, by looking into our target audience and later testing the game with them. Overall this was a fun project to work on that I learned quite a few things from, below some of my contributions can be seen:
